TD Waterhouse Retirement Tools

NEW YORK, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- TD Waterhouse Group, Inc. has introduced the TD Waterhouse Retirement Advisor, a free online service providing comprehensive third party retirement planning tools and resources.

The Retirement Advisor, which is accessible from the "Planning" section of TD Waterhouse's website (http://www.tdwaterhouse.com), breaks the planning process into three stages -- "Making A Plan," "Decision Day," and "Living Retirement" -- and offers customized content and interactive tools that address the financial and non-financial issues facing current and future retirees. The site is one of the first online services to offer a comprehensive, "one-stop" source focusing on the emotional and logistical issues associated with planning for and living through retirement.

"With recent market uncertainty it's now more critical than ever for future retirees to begin planning early and current retirees to safeguard their assets for a long and enjoyable retirement," said Elizabeth Butler, First Vice President, Retirement Plans Marketing of TD Waterhouse. "The TD Waterhouse Retirement Advisor underscores our commitment to improving investors' ability to adequately prepare for retirement and to maximize enjoyment of their retirement years."

The three sections of the TD Waterhouse Retirement Advisor are:

"Making A Plan" -- Interactive tools to help investors in the early stage of retirement planning, including:

* retirement planning basics;
* social security, net worth and savings calculators; and
* a "cost of waiting" estimator to determine costs incurred by delaying the retirement savings process or the benefits associated with saving early.

"Decision Day" -- Comprehensive information for investors as they make the transition to retirement, this section provides tools, including:

* a retirement readiness test and checklist to help assess general lifestyle and financial preparedness for retirement;
* a relocation scout; and
* estate tax, social security benefit and life and disability insurance calculators.

"Living Retirement" -- Tools and advice to help investors enjoy the retirement they've worked hard to achieve, including:

* managing retirement income;
* investigating prime areas for relocation and costs associated with relocating;
* healthy living in retirement; and
* information on travel opportunities, hobbies, and volunteering.

To provide calculators, content and other interactive planning tools for the Retirement Advisor, TD Waterhouse has agreements with Universal Pensions, Inc., a BISYS(R) Company, Financial Visions and Homestore.com, Inc.
