“This
is a great day for Fox Run and everyone who worked so hard to make
this event possible; from our industry-leading development team
and prestigious board, to our office staff and of course most importantly,
our residents,” said Patricia Szarpa, director of Marketing for
Fox Run at Orchard Park. “With only a handful of Lifecare communities
in all of New York state, Fox Run’s guaranteed, lifetime healthcare
services are a new and welcomed concept for many of Western New
York’s active seniors. We look forward to the peace of mind we will
provide them, along with the freedom to enjoy their retirement to
the fullest.”
Fox
Run is only the second Lifecare Retirement Community, also known
as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), in WNY and only
the seventh in New York State.
In
order to be recognized as a Lifecare community, Fox Run has met
very strict, financially-sound and highly-regulated criteria established
by the New York State Department of Health.
As
a Lifecare retirement community, once residents submit their entrance
fee Fox Run guarantees on-site assisted living and nursing care,
for as long as they need, with no change in monthly fees.
“Fox
Run offers the most comprehensive services and amenities of any
community the United Church Home Society has been involved with
in our more than 125 years of existence,” said Thomas H. Reinagel,
Executive Director of United Church Home Society, Inc “Through the
years the UCHS has provided services to seniors in a variety of
settings, and the Lifecare, location and lifestyle benefits Fox
Run will provide residents is truly unprecedented.”
When
constructed, Fox Run will be located on 52 acres in Orchard Park,
and will offer housing options consisting of one-and-two bedroom
apartments, as well as patio homes. Additionally, the Fox Run Community
will provide residents a variety of on-site amenities including
a health center, indoor pool, workshop, gift shop, banking facilities
and a variety of restaurants.
In
addition to the benefits Fox Run will provide active seniors, the
community will also have a significant financial impact on the local
economy. At full capacity, Fox Run will be home to 350 residents
and provide jobs for 118 full-time employees. In its first 30 years
of operation, Fox Run is projected to contribute almost $18 million
in town, county and school taxes, and it will be responsible for
all applicable Special District charges.
“Fox
Run has already established its willingness to support our great
community through their participation and sponsorship of events
such as, the Orchard Park Bicentennial Celebration, Orchard Park
Quaker Days and the Orchard Park Summer Concert Series,” said Toni
Cudney, Supervisor of the Town of Orchard Park. “As construction
begins, I would like to welcome Fox Run and their residents to Orchard
Park, and look forward to the benefits they will provide through
employment opportunities, additional demand for services from our
local businesses and added revenue for the Town of Orchard Park
and the Orchard Park School.”
Parking
for the event will be available about one-half mile from the Fox
Run site, in the Ralph Wilson Stadium lot on Route 20-A, in the
first overflow area on the right-hand side.
